Hyundai Genesis vs Camaro SS - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

The Hyundai Genesis has about 429hp. and 376tq. Does this mean the Camaro SS is just a cool looking muscle cars that get's beat in a race by a Hyundai's, or a Genesis with a blower now takes on a ZL1?

Its a good engine in a pretty heavy sedan. I'm sure they run low 13s in the 1/4 with none of them breaking into the 12s. I'm not sure if they're planning to stick that engine in the coupe. That would make it interesting.

Hyundais are really growing fast... there nice cars, well at least its good to know that the camaro set a new bracket for middle class hp/tq, with mustang following after, challenger and now genesis.

The hyundai's are nice and the hp and performance will probably be impressing but it's just not a muscle/pony car, I know people will be pissed if they get smoked by one though.

Just to clarify, the 429 hp 5.0 engine is in the Genesis R-Spec, not the regular Genesis. The regular Genesis has the 4.6.
Tests have shown the R-Spec runs low 13's in the 1/4 mile and high 4's 0-60. This is Camaro SS territory, depending on driver skill.
The Camaro would have no problem beating it on a road course though.

I didn't know that a car that does the 1/4 in about 13.5 is faster than one that does it in 13 flat.
