Picking her up on Thursday!! Gas?

Hey Everyone!

Just wanted to introduce myself. I've been watching these boards from afar as I prepared to make my purchase on a beautiful SIM 2LT/RS, and I've learned SO much from what you guys have had to say here. So thanks for that!

So as you've seen in the title, I'm picking up my baby this Thursday!
After speaking with the dealer, they said it'll be ready and waiting for me, detailed and a full tank of gas. I'm assuming they'll fill it with plain ol', regular unleaded.
But for future reference, what do you guys fill up on? Personally, I don't think using regular unleaded is that big a deal, especially with a V6 that I don't plan on using competitively... but I get the impression that you guys feel differently. Will it HURT my Camaro to use regular gas rather than premium? I'd rather not spend unnecessary funds on higher quality gas if I don't have to.

I'd appreciate your input!!

For the v6, you'll be just fine with regular unleaded

And, from now till Thursday, time WILL slow down. I'd try to keep busy

Awesome, thanks! That's what I figured, but I just wanted to make sure.

Meh, I know. :( But fortunately, still being in high school keeps me busy, especially here at the end of the year. Except now there's NO POSSIBLE WAY I'm gonna keep my head in the books. I'm gonna be glued to my computer screen, right here at Camaro5.

My first two tanks were premium, then the price jumped & I was filling it more than I used to fill the old 95 Z so it was getting too expensive & I went to regular... didn't notice any difference in performance or mileage so it's been 87 octane ever since... 6 months, 8200+ miles & no problems at all.

Good old 87 is fine to put in it, i have found that 93 octane gives me better fuel economy but its not all worth it but its good for the engine from time to time. Enjoy the kick ass ride!

Congrats. Not sure about your question because I don't know the compression ratio of the V6 3.6 DI

It won't hurt it any to use regular ol' 87... but I feel a difference when I put in 93. It has a little more get up and go in the lower RPM range. If you are shifting below 2000RPM you may notice it too. I haven't tried using 89 or 91 yet so I can't comment on that.
