Tire temperature menu?

I know the ZL one gets one but I wasn't sure if the 1LE got this as a hand me down… In any case I'm sure in a year or so there will be hacks to enable it my link system

Yes it has it, it will be under the performance menu. It is listed with the 2 different G force screens.

Neither did I.

I remember reading about it in a Z06 article. Apparently, a newer TPMS sensor had an internal temperature sensor for the circuit board, that ID'd three zones of temperature. The reading wasn't intended to provide data to the driver....but Corvette engineers were able to utilize that data to display those three temperature ranges on the DIC.

Pretty cool to see it in Camaro!

Even the regular SS has this feature. Found it myself when I went in for my second test drive of the Camaro last week.

That's awesome!! Now we can monitor our tire pressures at different temperatures in real time and dial our grip in. outstanding.

Just keep in mind, if it's the same as the C7s system...it's only going to read ranges...

Integrated Tire Temperature/Chassis Controls
Chevy uses the tire temperature data available through the C7's tire pressure sensors to more carefully control its ABS and electronic differential. Because the pressure sensors don't measure tire temperature directly (they actually measure the temperature of the TPMS sensor's microprocessor), it's not a perfect science, but it is one that data modeling can largely overcome. And it's one more piece of information that can be utilized to enhance the driving experience.

Tire temps are split into three categories: cold (below 45 degrees), warm (45-115 degrees) and hot (above 115 degrees). In "cold" mode ABS intervenes sooner and more progressively, while the differential is more aggressive to limit inside wheelspin. As temps increase, ABS control intervenes later and becomes more lenient, while differential locking ramps up more slowly.

I thought it was a little too good to be true the way I was understanding it.

Yeah. It's a step in the right direction, though!

Maybe the next-gen TPMS sensors will display more accurate ranges?

I do ok with tire pressures using my IR temp gun after I get off the track and high quality pressure gauge. I don't think the tire lose too much heat from the checkered flag to pits. It would certainly be cool to have real time temps at a glance on the track though!!
