Blacked out steering wheel

Done with the gauge bezel and air vents bezels. Now I just have to do the center air vent, but I have to wait for more vinyl wrap.

The picture of the air vent doesn't do it justice, it appears as though there's some imperfections but it actually looks nice in person. :/

I've been using this for years my cars as well as friend's cars: 3M Vinyl Wrap

It holds up well, very sturdy -- much much more durable than plastidip if you can wrap it.

Steering wheel uses about a 18" w x 12" h (guessing).

About the same for the gauge bezel.

About 4" square for the air vents.

The center air vent (which I haven't done yet) is probably 24" x 5".


You always want some excess to use for grabbing and stretching when working it over curved surfaces.

I'd recommend the 5' x 2' roll so that you can cover a 2' area if needed.

But you can probably get away with a 5' x 1' roll.

I didn't do the center console yet so I don't know but a 5' x 2' roll should cover everything.

I'm not into the red bowtie, but I LOVE the hint of red trim on the gauge bezel. I wish I had done that while I had mine off.

I'd like the chrome around the bowtie to be red and then the gold center to be black, that'd be cool

The gauges are GlowShift - they rattle like crazy unless you put dental bands between the knobs and they do not back up their product.

It will stretch pretty far if you move slowly.
I'd say a 1/4 inch of material can easily stretch to an inch or more.

The problem is when you use your fingers to work it in, watch your finger nails, then can cut through the material pretty easily when its warm or if theres a lot of friction from moving your nail along an edge a lot of times.
