I'm installing Escort this weekend using mount to the right of mirror.
Sell the Escort or return it., You dont want to use the Cig for power and have it hanging from the windshield.

Did I mention the WOW factor chicks give when they see this ha ha ha.

Very nice, I do have a medium tint on the back windshield and the auto dim is still a must have for me. The car sits low enough that anything bigger than a compact car is going to blast the rear view mirror with their headlights.

I'm planning to get the Escort 9500ci System and a Blinder M47 installed real soon. Am hoping to get a good install with that too:

Do you have something against etching? I think it provides a much better level of detail.

Etching involves abrasive media. I dont use that. Photo you posted looks like the same method I use however its way overdone and busy looking. I dont dig it.

Each to their own, maybe I am misusing the term etching, there is no abrasion involved, the glass is crystal clear. I understand some may think it is busy but then others like to identify the alert lights too although there are other options for this. It all comes down to the level of stealth required, in areas where radar detectors are frowned upon there are a number of things that can be done to disguise the fact that it is in fact a radar detector.

While this process isn't cheap the big plus is that it is repeatable and quick, once a prototype has been done to tune the process a mirror can be processed in a matter of minutes.

Ohhhh Noooo... No hanging wires... One reason I went with Escort were these two threads. Dome Light Connection...

The "lots of soldering and mods part" will probably have me stay with escort. Besides it is #1
However your install is awesome...
