I'm guessing that the convertibles will be available about six months after the coupes start arriving at dealerships. If the first 2012 ZL1 coupes begin arriving at dealers in the March/April time frame and the 2013 ZL1 convertible production begins at the beginning of the 2013 model year production, the convertibles will probably begin arriving at dealers in the September/October time frame. Therefore, if my estimates of dates are accurate there should be a six month delta between the first arrivals of the 2012 ZL1 coupes and the initial arrivals 2013 ZL1 convertibles. I've waited this long already, so what's another six or so months of waiting at this point?. I am very happy that Chevrolet is producing a ZL1 convertible, and that, based on the press release, it doesn't appear to be detuned in any way from the coupe.

I'm so happy for all the people wanting a convertible AND a ZL1! In the back of my head...the automatic was going to be a sales benefit over the GT500...but then we were left without a convertible so I figured things would balance out...not anymore!! Mustang, eat your heart out! |

Yes, I expect that the ZL1 convertible will be heavier than the coupe is, just as with the SS, so the ZL1 convertible will not perform quite as well as the coupe does, but for 98% of the time that I'll be driving the car, with my driving skills, I'll never be able notice the performance difference, and the extra fun I'll have with the convertible makes the trade off well worth it for me.

SICK... I think pricing is going to be in the stratosphere. The current 2SS vert is about five grand over the 2SS coupe pricing. Man I am going to need a third job.
EDIT: Wanted to mention that I think the front of this car looks too busy. Doesn't stop me from setting the goal to own one. ;-) Last edited by tramtwo; 10-10-2011 at 11:40 AM. Reason: Old age |

Did I miss where we established a number to base a 'vert premium off of?

It wouldn't, I agree. My question was a sideways crack at your coupe price guess.

Looks like they blacked out the small front area in front of the upper grill.
Just wondering if that will be also in place for the 2012 model ZL1, i'm sure this is a proto type, but it looks pretty close to the final rendition to me.

Ok gotcha...yeah, but we all know from reading important posts on here the price is 57 at least, so 65 for a convertible is no stretch by any means considering the extra bracing etc.......
