Question Leak in trunk

I have a '12 2ss. When it rains heavy I get a puddle in the rear right side inside the trunk. I have no idea where it is coming from. All the rubber gasket seals are in tact. The car has never been in an accident.

Has anyone ever had this problem? Any way to fix other than mechanic/ body shop?

Thank you all

Do you have a moon roof? If you do, the rear drains go through the trunk, and can come dislodged right where they exit the trunk and let water in.

+1 more for this. It is a common issue with 5th gen Camaros.

Have you checked the weather stripping/molding all the way around to make that there are no rips/flat spots on it anywhere? If you can’t find it the only way to for sure find it would be to put the back seats down and look from inside with a flashlight while someone sprayed it with a hose pipe all the way around the trunk.

If you open the trunk and look in the channel around the lip, there are two black plugs on either side near the upper corner below the rear window. Maybe the one on the passenger side is missing or got popped loose or something.

After a loaded down road trip I had the same prob. Exhausted all the things mentioned in this thread and still was leaking. Finally figured out that the fully loaded trunk had pushed the wiring harness up against the upper lip of the trunk and it remained in contact after the trip. Didn't realize it was happening as that when trunk was open the wiring was hanging a little, but when closing it would lift up into the shape it'd been in when trunk was full to the brim w/luggage (it was a 10 day cross country trip). Only realized it when it caught my attention that the wire wrap was wet. Gently bent and reshaped the wiring and problem solved. See if that wiring harness is wet, or pull rear seat down and shine a light into trunk and see if you're wiring is touching the upper rim of trunk. To be honest it still baffles me how water was getting outta the channel and onto the wiring but it was. Never had a drop since.

Check the grommet behind the rear tail light. Mine popped out and let water run down the cables and into the trunk.

Have same issue. I’ve taken carpet out and get water sitting in the bottom of the trunk where the battery is. Cannot figure it out for the life of me. And it’s not a consistent thing either. Which makes it even more confusing. The only thing I can maybe narrow it down to is the wire harness along the right side of the opening when the trunk it open, it pinches itself in the seal when I close the trunk and the fabric tape I think wicks water in. I would check that wire harness and just see
