I couldn't agree with the insurance company all the time, but, I did make sure my customer knew everything that was going on and involved them as much as they wanted to be, and made sure they knew I was working for THEM not the insurance company; I think this gets forgotten by many shops. Maybe you mean not to argue with your shop (because, to me, it sounds like they aren't too willing to work for you) and I agree in that case - I'd find another shop.
Oh I didn't mean to lead down the path that you shouldn't talk or be involved with the auto shop. Just that its possible. My advice would be to be involved every step of the way, but its not necessary. "Technically" the shop should communicate the situation to the insurance adjuster and then the adjuster should call YOU and get authorization on what to do (remember you pay your premiums for this service).

With state farm yes you would have to submit a claim but it would not count against your rate/policy. With country wide you don't even have to submit a claim to get them working on the other insurance company.
Fair enough,

But, just to be clear, It will only count as a claim if they don't get 100% reimbursed. If it got 90% covered then I'd have a 10% claim which probably wouldn't change my rates any... I don't pretend to be an expert.

The more I go through this the more I realize

Sorry dude if I came off thinking otherwise. I read your post a few times and by the last time I was thinking you probably meant what you just posted. My bad Sorry

Update, I'm very happy with the new repair shop, They've already gone back to the ins Co. with ammendments to the repair and sent back some of the LKQ parts because they weren't satifactory.

So, all in all things are going well.

Now, the bad news. I won't get my car back until early January..... YiPEE :(

Note: When getting into a car crash try not to do it around the holidays....

See what happens? j/k

Good to hear those parts were garbage and they sent in a supplement. The saga will continue but at least you have the car in a shop that makes you feel happy about the whole deal (well, relatively). Good thing you have a rental. I'm glad things are starting to work out. How are you and the occupants (I'm sorry - I forget if you had others in the car when the accident happened)?

Everyone is fine, My boss and I were going to luch when it happened. We were both a little stiff over the next couple days but, nothing more then that.

I was surprised at how sore I was from just a little fender bender... I've been healthy and active my whole life so I concider myself to be in good shape for a 35 year old... I felt like I hand been through a tough day at the gym for the next couple days... I wasn't ready for that...

I've been running the cobalt pretty hard... But, I have to say it is a total base model. I was surprised you can still buy a car with manual doors and windows... I know, I know. Silly spoiled American

Well,

I still don't have my car..... I will be getting a diminished value claim and reimbursed for the time off I've had to take to work all this out.

The Good: The repair center has done a great job. They made sent LKQ parts back and added stuff to the original assessment that was missed. Currently they are waiting for an upper control arm. Then alignment and hopefully my car back this week...

The bad: Liberty mutual has cancelled my rental a total of 4 times, The Adjuster won't return my calls, And has yet to reimburse me for the rental charges I've paid as a result of them prematurely cancelling my rental.

I'm not happy so much...

I like the good news. I good body shop is hard to find. Long after the insurance bs is gone, you'll have a car that looks good.

Those ins. companies can really work you over. Shouldn't be much longer.
