It is a good idea. Read your owners manual.

Watch your language around here.

I was expecting a hilarious thread. I'm disappointed.

Foot to the floor, let her rip! Have you seen a new car come off the line, onto the rollers then redlined! I do agree with varying speeds for the first 500 miles.

I literally left the dealer parking lot on the floor. The first 250 miles was put on it in one weekend blasting up and down country roads.

I'm at 4900 miles now. Runs like a champ and produces great highway MPG so I'm happy.

I don't know what being uncomfortable with your own sexuality has to do with engines? Are you afraid that if you break it in wrong then you'll suddenly lust for the crotch of your own sex?

I'd check the manual, it says something about breaking the car in. I think it's right after chapter 6 "Does that tingle in my pants mean i'm not normal?"

Wow, and to think some get banned for "Di#k" word...........I'm talking to you bowtiebelle, ha.

Anyways, this is from a machinist..........your car doesn't need a break-in, period. Todays materials and tighter tolerances and bettering manufacturing techniques are light years ahead of the old "break-in" days. If you feel better about, hey, it is your car, do as you please. And before someone states "but that is what the owner's manual says".........all I can say then that murder would be an easy thing, merely replace a page in the owner's manual that states, and after "break-in period" please jump off a bridge...........................

Thank you.

Might be a record, 10 seconds after a posting, a contridictory remark, I am impressed.

Like clinton said about sex, depends on what is, is, depends on what you call rough is, there Ruffy.

BTW, you have enough problems in Chicago, focus on them.

People have said the part in the manual about taking it easy for the first 1500 miles is mainly for legal purposes. If you research, "hard break in" you'll see that many people think you shouldn't baby it. I wouldn't beat on the car, but don't be afraid to drive it...these are performance cars, after all. Have fun!!

Also not sure on this one. I hear a lot of guys refer to their Camaros as "her" on here. Y'all are attracted to some very dude-looking lady-cars, if the Camaro is in fact, a lady. It's got muscle, and aggression...brooding looks, big powerful looking quarter panels, and it's not exactly 'soft spoken'. Makes me think it's not a lady.

I'm cool with my car being a dude, but I'm fun like that. ...this Camaro certainly doesn't wear a dress or any makeup.
