watch those launches....
was in a playful mood last night and dropped the hammer and either A.) snapped a cv shaft or B.) stripped the splines on the cv shaft... :( called onstar and got it towed to the local dealership. gotta go back on monday and see whats up and how long its gonna be down for, of all the stuff that could happen i guess it could have been worse, but you would think they would have made it strong enough to handle stock power
update: got my car back they replaced the whole passenger side cv shaft, the new one is about 1/2 inch bigger in diameter then the old one so i guess thats good. either way i'm happy to have my car back. Last edited by haulass350; 07-08-2009 at 03:06 PM. |

Most likely another transmission output shaft, others have had the same issue. Haven't seen any failures of the cv's or rear axles yet.

I think now that production has been ramped up to meet the flood of orders for the last several weeks the numbers of broken cars is going to mount. Especially those that do the bolt on dance for the 30-50 extra HP. There is a known tremec weakness in the tail output shaft. There has also been a couple others with the same break as this one. Really unacceptable to me that they just continue to release these cars at hyper speed with unresolved issues. Sorry to hear your story.
Thanks for the info. Let us know how it goes and what they find. |
