This NFS prostreet. Is it more like the Forza games? Or is it one of those, slide all over, fire the 'nitrous' and your tire tracks become flames, and the world blurs around you, even though you're not actually going any faster than you were before you fired the 'nitrous'.

It's more of a simulation then previous NFS. I would consider the skill it takes to beat the later levels almost up there with Forza PGR. The grip driving is tough, especially when you're on dusty dirt covered roads like Nevada II.
The nitrous actually speeds you up. You can see a noticeable boost when you use it. My Camaro SS drag car twists off the line and sometimes doesn't go straight. Wheelie into a concrete median is almost like hitting a mini van after 0.98 sec 0-60 on an electric bike. You need to know how to drive to do well in this game. The drift mode is overexaggerated but but that's drifting and it should be that way. |

Gotham is the same as Forza. Different companies, same physics. They're pretty realistic. You can't provide the same feeling of being in a seat, but it's probably the closest you can get physics wise to the real world. FWD understeers and you drive it differently then a RWD which steers VERY differently then 4WD in the corners.
NFS has the arcade feel but this one is getting closer to being realistic like Forza/PGR. |

If the game had unreal physics it was likely a need for speed game. They release them at a rate of around 1/year so i don't know what it could have been. I have Carbon and it does happen that if you are at max speed and hit nitrous you get all the visual effects but no more speed.

Project Gotham Racing is PGR. Forza Motorsports came out later and was pretty much the same game.
