Anybody driving in winter?

Anybody driving in the winter? I'm really curious about how it's doing in the cold and snow...

I know a couple people have been driving their throughout the winter...(cant remember screen names off the top of my head) but from what I've heard, with a smaller (19" or 18" rim) and all season or snow tires, they handle excellently in the snow. Dont have any issues starting or anything like that. I'm sure that they will chime in here & confirm this. As for mine/ladyinblue's camaro, he's been sitting in the garage all winter but the other day, started him up and took him for a drive. Started like we had just run him a day ago, no problems at all.

Dude! Send me some cheese, you guys make the best in WI! There are about 89 threads on this subject, but yes drove mine all winter with 18" P ICE/Snow. No probs and no damage. She's a beast!

Drove mine all winter with the 20" summer tires. (disclaimer: I wouldn't recommend using the summer tires in winter, I personally have and have had no issues)
I just don't drive it when snow is predicted, but cold weather and cold roads have been no problem.

Plenty of traction on my 18' Pirelli ice and snow tires... just don't stomp on the gas unless you want to do a standing still fish tail.

I drive mine every day. I did put Firestone snow tires on it and have not had one problem all winter and I drive it every day.

This car is amazing!

My car is a daily driver.

I have Yokohama Prada -X tires all seasons for the winter and have not had an issue and we were clobbered with snow and ice this winter. Just drive for the weather and do not use the Perrelli's when snow/ice becomes an issue. The Camaro handled much better than expected.

+1 - Drove every day with the same tires as you and have not had any issues.

Drove every day in Chicago with specific snow/ice tires for my SS.
No problems at all! Last month in Feb with the big snow a driver of a Subaru Forester
was trying to catch up to me because of how amazing my SS performed quickly at the stop lights and lane changing in the hwy.

I suggest the Bridgestone Blizzak 255/45/20''s for next winter.

good luck

I still have my 20" Summer tires on but I only drive when the roads have been clear for a day or two and there is no snow in the forcast. (Only drove it maybe 3 days out of the month for the past 4 months). But thats what the winter beater is for.

Works great with Pirelli scorpion Ice and snow tires. Works better than my 2000 Camry with all season tires. I took it out on the days that it was unplowed. Went right through the stuff, only got stuck once when someone from the city decided to plow the sidewalk with their bobcat and go across the street at the intersection leaving a pile of snow too deep right at the stop sign.

In that case I had to backup and power through it.

The wet snow can get into the stock wheels and make it off balance. Other than that, it is great.
