I plan on getting the SLP LMII one of these ways:
1. Axle-back plus 2.5" x-pipe to replace stock H-pipe and resenators (L99 only).
2. Axle-back plus 3" x-pipe and custom fabricated 3" exhaust from cats back.
3. SLP LMII mufflers and tips plus 2.5" x-pipe to replace stock H-pipe and resenators (L99 only).
4. SLP LMII mufflers and tips plus 3" x-pipe and custom fabricated 3" exhaust from cats back.

I am not replacing the cats until I get the headers. I'm leaning toward number 4.

Here is a diagram of the exhaust:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...xhaust+diagram See my post #8 for the legend of parts, the diagram from the OP is mis-labeled...the cats are redish-purple at the front.

There is a post I can't find with a great pick of the exhaust on a shop floor. High Flow cats are used with headers so they don't become the choke point in the system. With stock manifolds there's no point in replacing the cats, you still have the choke point with the manifolds. You're better off spending money elsewhere.

Unless you are going with a big cam or supercharger then 3" is overkill and not needed. Do a search on the forum and you'll find where this is talked about serveral times. Same goes with the X-Pipe. There are pictures of the factory H-Pipe and then the aftermarket X-Pipe in it's place.

If you are adding just the axle-back and an X-pipe you'll end up keeping the stock 2.5" pipes. The 2.5" X-pipe will be installed to replace the stock H-pipe and two big resenators that hide it (see photo in this post) http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...xhaust+picture

If you want a 3" cat-back system you can buy the SLP cat-back which includes n x-pipe of have a shop fab a custom 3" system with 3" x-pipe.
