I was hoping you'd buy one! Just sold my house and getting ready to break ground on the new one. So the ZL-1 is not in the cards for me right now

I was wondering about your housing situation. The boss(wife) ok'd the ZL1 as long as the price is right. We'll see.

Well considering the 1969 Camaro ZL1 was doing what? 11.50 and 10's with slicks this car will have to out perform that if they want to keep the Marketing Slogan, The fastest, most powerful Camaro ever. Otherwise they are just saying that for the hell of it.

Gotta admit I only used that one for the opposite gender , visa versa...,but your point was well taken. I think we get a nice balance between both worlds as well Scarrzz..

Maybe even a touch better with everything designed to work together as a total package. I'm open to being astounded.
I am thinking the same thing, staying conservative and estimating 11.88 @ 121 mph. And that's out of the box. Can you imagine what the Beast will do with some minor mods?

Wait. What? The auto faster than the manual? That's impossible! Just ask the manual trans lovers!

Here is some info I had dug up in the past on the first ZL-1 drag test with Dick Harrell in Kansas City.

May 2007 Camaro performers magazine has a great article on the 69 ZL-1. They called it HELLBOY. Basically with some tinkering to the valve lash , carb , headers and some 8.5 M&Hs they ran 11.64 at 122 in the original 1970 Drag test. Also at the end of the article was mentioned at the proving grounds in Milford MI , 1 of only 2 ZL-1 vettes was out fitted with only a tire mod. Being a 10.50 x 15 M&H racemaster and it went 10.70s ALL DAY LONG!!! They considered that to be the key to the kingdom!

Same here. I've almost broke down and purchased an SS a couple times now. We need an update on this beast, been a while without any news.
