wasn't long ago you could combine the sales of the Camaro and the Trans Am and get to maybe 1/4th of the stang sales. Camaro and Trans Am were better performers though.

Now the Camaro holds the sales lead, although nowhere near the level the mustang had, and the mustangs are the better performers.

+1. Of the top of my head, I know the hood is different, the grilles are changed, so is much of the lower front fascia...they added quad exhaust tips for '13 (still miffed about that )...and I think it's got special side-skirts, as well.

It's just a shame that front end is no longer GT500-specific.

Like I said heres what will happen and you can book it- Camaro will keep outselling it until the 6th Gen Mustang comes out and then the Mustang may have a sales lead for a year and then the new 6th Gen Camaro will come out and be back on top for sales again until the 7th gens then rinse and repeat. The Camaro coming back is Fords achilles heel and is going to kill them on sales for this segment here on out. The Camaro being lighter next gen will only make matters worse for Ford. Ultimately it will come down to design as to who will come out on top next gen. Its going to be close thats for sure in that department but normally GM wins in that category.

Yeah BUT you can tell a difference between a Z06 & ZR-1 more so than a 2013 Mustang GT to a GT500. The Z06 doesnt have a window with the engine shown on the hood while the ZR-1 does. The Shelby the only difference now is its lower and has a chin spoiler other than that not much else other than badges.

Who cares about sales?? The manufacturer yes, but surely not the end consumer. When the 5.0 and GT500 spank the SS/ZL1 you think at the end of the race its really gonna hurt the mustang owners feelings if you say to them " hey the camaro has outsold the mustang for the last 2.5 years, blah blah blah"

Since you do wanna talk about sales figures. How many more mustangs did ford sell from 2002-2009 vs the camaro/ta?? I think the camaro could outsell the mustang for the next 15 years and still not catch up to total number of vehicles sold since 2002. Lets take it all the way back to the beginning. Im pretty confident to mustang is WAYYYY ahead of the camaro in all time sales.

BTW This was one bad ass commercial and anybody who says differently is simply a hater.

The 500 is a very respectible machine however.
