cold air intakes

Trying to compare the following intakes:
ADM street cai
ADM race cai
Rotofab cai

So, whats the difference in the two offerings from ADM?
How do the hp and tq numbers compare between the 3 with NO tune on a stock engine?

Thanks
Tony

ADM units cannot be used without a tune. Race ADM cold air removes the washer bottle and includes a scoop for best flow. It is the one I use. Honestly, they are all good units.

the airflow calibrations are way off with the ADM units without a tune and tuning recalibrates the MAF for proper fueling. The Roto Fab unit can be used without a tune because of the design.

on a stock car I think it is going to be fairly close comparison. on a modified car the ADM unit might have an advantage.

it is really hard to say as all of the CAI's have cars pushing 700whp+

my advice to poeple is if your tuning pick the one you like the look or fit of best. if you not tuning the rotofab at $399 is hard to beat or the CAI is only $50 more I think.

if you are into carbon fiber though K&N makes on of those for example. if you like a closed lid design the CAI or ADM have that.

this is one of those purchases where I am not sure there a "right" way you just have to decide what you like. I am cheap the rotofab is on my car. I put the money I saved towards a throttle body.

vatechguy3....you got any citations yet on I-81? I'd be afraid to have that much power and a potential Virginia jail sentence.

I have used both ADM street and CAI. Both closed lid systems. Both are good. The CAI unit is easier to get into. It only has 3 quick turn screws to get the top off. The ADM unit has about 10 screws you need an allen wrench to get the screws off. I currently have the CAI one due to the ease of geting the lid off.

Im in SE VA, so i drive alot on I-64. No tickets yet. But still breaking it in. Havent been over 4k rpm or 80mph.

I did get my first kill tonight. Some kids in a "tuner" dodge neon. They floored it as i was shifting from 1st to 2nd. I went half throttle and shifted to 3rd at 4k rpm. Had them by 5 cars and 5mph below the speed limit. No problem!!

Rotofab for sure. Their product is very nice and customer service is exceptional in my dealings thus far. And no tune needed.

Is it possible or has anyone ever tried modifying the stock airbox to help improve airflow.
