Most dealers require a deposit between $500-$1,000.

When you order the car you'll get a break down of the costs and how much the total due will be. You will not do financing until the car arrives.

So I have finally talked the parents into letting me get a Camaro, with the help of a friend that has a 2010 LT. What im looking at now is a Black 2011 2LT RS with Sunroof, so i have dropped the auto and polished wheels.. Also found this exact one at a local dealer. Will be driving/practicing on the manual with the friends Camaro this week and have to wait till the end of semester (Dec 17) to actually start the buying process, parents rule. Still wondering if the college discount(supplier price) is the best way to go or to try and negotiate on our own? MSRP: 30,475 Supplier: 29,590 and Great Price on True Car: 29,142

I walked into my local dealer, told him I'd pay invoice on a custom order, and no extra dealer add-on's and he said no problem (plus I got an additional $1000 off for Pontiac loyalty program). Didn't even need to mention preferred pricing! They required $500 down. Financing is done when car comes in.

I just bought mine last week, and mine is a 1LT/RS. MSRP: $27,525 I paid $26,000 for it Plus Sales Tax and Tax. No Dealer Fee, No Dealer Add-Ons. You should shoot for around $1500-1700 off plus no dealer fee and work your way up very slowly they should take it though.
