GM Supplier Pricing Question - Advice Needed - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

My Camaro delivers next week. When I ordered in Sept. the salesman agreed to honor any GM incentives that were in effect at the time of delivery. I found out in a round about way (Had a friend call the dealer) Dealer will not honor the GMS discount that I qualify for and have been issued an authorization number from GM. Do I have any recourse? I want my discount! Any advice?

if the dealer agreed to give you certain discounts that doesnt mean they will honor those discounts to other people.. so maybe you should call your dealer and clarify...

I tried that move, dealer wouldn't go for it. I would have had to re-order again, with 9 months in wait time already, I gladly paid msrp.

Or you could reorder from another dealer with 1.5 months wait time.

I would think that GM is paying for the GMS Discount, no money out of the dealers pocket.

The GMS Discount would be $624 off MSRP

Heyya---did you get the GMS pricing on your workbench order form?
I did.

When I ordered I told my dealer that I had a GMS authorization code and he promptly agreed on honoring it. He then place my workbench order, printed out, faxed it to me, and I read it and it gave two prices MSRP and a column that said GMS and it's $2850 difference in my favor!! I got it in writing the rule of thumb in the auto world--they are also honoring the 60-day gaurantee opt out of $500 credit.

To top that all off he is taking my 08 Trailblazer 3SS off my hands for a very fair price! It would pay it off plus add to my down! This dealer rocks!!

The only catch is I had to wait on allocation since 7/10/09 and I have a TPW of 10/26/09 with an ETA for delivery (all things being equal) of 2-weeks there after--we are already researching interest rates and banks--he's looking and I am. YOU HAVE TO FIND A GOOD HONEST DEALER!! THEY ARE OUT THERE!! CHECK ON THIS SITE--I think I saw someone named Becky somethin--then there is Camaro Scotty I think-they can drop ship your car to your nearest dealer!

By the way, if you are switching dealers and want my dealer's info--let me know--he sometimes gets cars in and the person who orders either backs out or cant get financed! I've posted them here many times and they usually get scooped up pretty fast.

You have two choices talk to the dealership again and see if they will honor it or walk and go to a different dealership. Plenty of Camaro 5 dealerships with pretty much ALL combos available.

It is up the dealership if they want to honor GMS they do not have to.

I guess I gotta learn when a car salesman tells me that he will honor any GM incentive that is in effect when I pick up the car, that it might be BS. But I wont give up the $600 without a fight, I'm gonna take the car regardless, but I'll let them know I wont be back for service or the Equinox my wife has been wanting. But as far as walking away after waiting 7 weeks and reordering, I cant stand the wait.

I think it depends on your msrp

yeah theres a excel spreadsheet on here somewhere thats a gret calculator, shows invoice which is pretty much the discount
