The people at GM who determines the prices, MSRP, invoice and etc. must be rolling over laughing at some of the responses if they read some of the threads about the projected prices.

JUST FOR THE FUN OF IT... what would "COST" be, or INVOICE

The incremental cost of the ZL1 should not be in excess of $20k over the 2SS/RS. The difference between the GS corvette and the Z06 is $19,600 just for comparison.

The 2SS/RS camaro with hurst short throw is $38,000 so I still think you get the ZL1 price at a max of $57k with the RS package and hurst short throw standard as it is part of the ZL1 already. The options like suede pkg, 5 spoke wheels, sun roof, etc.... all on top of that.

So, even at that price and a few options, you still beat the $63k price some people are saying some dealers are offering on a 3LT vette. I am sticking with the ZL1.
ON a $62.000 sticker what do you think dealer cost would be? Start at MSRP and show detailed items such as holdback etc to get to your cost... I am asking just for education on subject.. I don't have a clue on this.

The comparison is not a GS Corvette to a ZO6. It's to a ZR1. Thats where alot of you miss the point. Expect the price difference to be simular. GS Corvette to ZO6 would be SS to Z28.

I shop for GM cars in the past and the base price of the car is usual very reasonable. That said; you do not want to buy it with no options on it since it is pretty much undesirable. So I add usually a 25% more to the base price just to get it up to an import car standard.

So my guess is it will be around $46K for the base price and a decent ZL1 will be around the $55K-$64K range without any taxes, registration and other fees. If a special dealer added options like more fancy wheel package, body kit, etc... could run you $74K or more.

I agree with your point in the past except that in the ZL1 case they have significantly limited the options with this car and instead have included most of the typical options as standard. The only options available on the ZL1 are sunroof, Exposed CF insert, stripes and maybe a couple other small items

I have no idea what dealer cost is. I can only assume there is very little markup since the supplier discount on a corvette is almost $6 grand and on the camaro I believe its not even $1,000.

dont worry people... trust that FORD will force them to lower the price on this car... competition decides pricing 9 times out of ten... look what red box did to block blister... made them lower there rental prices etc... u think they wanted to do that? no!!! they loved over-charging people... its brough more profit andf revenue... chevy will have to just take a loss on profits to stay in the competion... 580hp for 59k? when i can get a 550 mustang for 53? with nav? um yea

Camaro ZL1 has things the GT500 doesn't.....

1) IRS
2) Magnetic Ride Suspension
3) "optional" 6-speed Auto
4) confirmed performance laptimes @ 'Ring

These few things alone will justify the Higher MSRP over the GT500...

I believe MSRP of $55,000, give or take a few thousand..

ZL1 also comes stock with items you have to add to the GT500...

Factory-integrated engine oil cooler, Factory brake cooling ducts, Factory transmission oil cooler, Factory-integrated rear differential cooler, Factory integrated high-performance fuel system.
