Are special editions really that special?

Ok GM has made many special editions of the gen 5 camaros from transformers to the spring edition and everything in between. Now I know the production numbers vary greatly but which one has the staying power of maintaining value or desireabilty. Synergy? Dusk? Hot wheels? Valor? What is everyone's thoughts.

I know COPO not listed because it is not a supposed to be a street car...

If you own one of these models post pics and why you voted the way you did.

I obviously have a 45th but I think the most rare is probably the valor. I've never seen one in person. I have a banner of a side profile of a valor edition with a lady only wearing some hearts covering the happy areas but to me that the most rare. Idk what comes with that package however. I really love the hot wheels. If I could do it again, and hot wheels was available, I'd do what I could to pick one up, in a v8 funding available or course. Maybe even a vert. Part of me wishes I had a vert.

I voted XM because I had forgotten all about it! Chevy threw the Synergy Green Metallic Special Edition under the bus when they came back with the 2011 in all forms. They backed up and ran over it again when they offed the color on a Sonic this year. Oh well, I have mine and am happy to this day when I go to open the garage door.

Well mine is 1 of 239 V8 Spring Specials so I am hoping it maintains its value. Plus the summit white and blue ray.....mmmm....Just love it.

You forgot the Neiman Marcus. Only 75 made. It's value has fallen steadily. There is a dealer in Michigan that has a few left listed at $75K but they really are not for sale.

Your right! I forgot about Newman Marcus.

The dealership where I leased my wife's Equinox had one sitting outside bc they were tired of having it. As of earlier this year they still had it, covered in snow, just waiting for someone to buy it

No. There wasn't enough "special" about any of them. Paint, trim, and stickers aren't enough in my opinion. Although not really special editions, I think the 1LE and the ZL1 have the most potential to be collectors pieces some day. Pontiac built anniversary edition trans ams every 5 years since 79. Most are just gussied up versions of regular trans ams. The sole exception being the 89 which received the 1LE suspension and the turbo six. The 89s are much more desirable and collectible for that reason.

There's no option for NONE. Special Editions should be just that, Special. And limited in number. Not the next thing moving down the assembly line.

One thing I don't like is most special editions do not have any badges saying what they are. Would have liked to have at least a badge on the dash on my Dusk edition.

I was even thinking be nice if somebody made some nice badges... I'd buy some.

How about the pace cars? There the only ones I foresee holding extra value other than maybe the hot wheels.

Although I am looking forward to the 2015 Spring Edition, that green is awesome
