This horse is not dead yet: COLORS

.

Victory Red, Orange, Yellow, Black, White, Silver, CGM replacement, IBM...

OK, so we know the current colors for our beloved ZL1 include the replacement for CGM that will be "richer" and that IBM will be returning.

That leaves me with these questions:

Will IBM be back by the initial ordering date?

Might there be any other colors offered at initial ordering time?

Will Carbon Flash be available on ZL1?

Will there be a "synergy" bold replacement for the missing green?

When will we definitively know the answers to these questions?

Inquiring minds, etc.

My reason for this post to a badly beaten and somewhat lame horse was in hopes that someone from on high might throw us another little bone.

It may be that they are waiting to see if that can get sufficient paint supplies on another color.

Then again, it may be that they're angling for a big flurry of excitement closer to launch.

Then again, it may be that we get only what we've got... I'm hoping for at least one more, something bold.

I'm still on the fence between Black & IBM.

At this point, just just give me an unpainted car with a voucher to get it painted by my dealer (ABM please).

Not a bad idea. There would be some truly unique ZL1's roaming the streets.

I was in C5 Nirvana today at Mission Chevy in El Paso. They had 19 on display and a couple in the employee parking lot. They had a Cyber Gray Metallic amongst those.

I've never had the chance to look at a Hugger Orange up close before in the sunshine. That looks better up close than driving past. The metalflake reflects as yellow, and I was very favorably impressed.

(I'm still going Black or IBM though.)

I did wander through the Silverados, and two colors in particular struck me as notable. They have a "Dark Titanium" that looks a lot like the cyber grey metallic, but a good shade darker and with more metallic accents, and a sprinkling of tiny blue sparkles in it - much like the Cyber Gray in the sunshine. That would be an excellent replacement for the cyber gray.

A couple of shades lighter was a Blue Granite Metallic that was a slightly more silvery version of the Dusk Blue we've been admiring.

Either would be super sweet on the ZL1. I wouldn't be surprised if the "Dark Titanium" was what is replacing the Cyber Gray. It did have a "richer" look to it.

Of course ZL1 would look good covered in coal tar.

(I may be slightly prejudiced.)
