442 whp with just cai , cat delete, tune and headers.

I'm new to the Camaro game. I just bought a 2013 1LE . Took it to the guys and Sandbeck Racing Development in Fargo ND. Heard good things about them. Had them put headers and off road pipes and tune it . It made 442whp on a mustang dyno. Haven't had it to the track yet but all the haters say that's not possible. Even Matt at SRD was surprised but impressed. Are the numbers way off ??

A little high. Remember that dynos are really meant to be tuning tools as opposed to horsepower comparison tools.

We see most CAI intakes and headers get tuned to 410 to 430.

A friend in Calif. had CAI plus headers and he did 435 rwhp on a Superflow 880 dyno. And, that was on CA's 91 octane crap gas.

So, I'd say a little high compared to the norm. But not crazy high. And, maybe you just have a really good motor!

Thank you for the input. Still in the Camaro learning process. I must say though so far I love the car . Previously had a 2013 SRT8 superbee. Camaro wins the fun factor hands down.

Off topic: In my youth, I had a '69 Super Bee.

The dynamics and handling will be night and day different from the 2013 Super Bee Sedan. You're a little lighter now with much wider rubber, too. You don't have 470hp/470tq crank though (YET!).

In fact, if you drive (or have driven) a regular Camaro SS LS3, the difference is still pretty stunning.

Welcome to Club 1LE! Enjoy!

Sounds pretty similar to where I last dyno'd at. I'd expect you to be a little higher than me with your electronic power steering.

You deleted mufflers, etc. So, I assume your 1LE came with the standard SS exhaust and not NPP?

With your Rotofab, plus headers, off-road pipes or hi-flow cats. X-pipe, etc. plus a tune to take advantage of the new mods, you should see well over 400 rwhp.

That seems pretty high to me for a CAI, LT headers, exhaust, and tune. Unless the LS3 just really responds well to mods. I have the same mods but haven't had it put on a dyno yet so I cant tell you what Im making. I don't trust Mustang dynos very much anyways. From my experience they are hardly ever accurate. I know others will argue differently, but from my experience when I had my 2002 Corvette with heads, cam, LT headers, Corsa exhaust, and CAI, it put down 460 at the rear wheels on a DynoJet. Went to a car show not long after that that had a Mustang dyno there and for the hell of it I put it on there and the numbers were 690. That LS1 cant handle that much power without doing a lot of internal work and forced induction which I did not have. Hopefully when I put mine on a dyno I can get close to that.

Not a technical expert but the variance can be weather ect. The next is the resulting numbers based off of raw data with SAE applied. If that is the way the dyno works.
