Is it bad to have no exhaust system at all? just cut from cat converter on a v6.

Just curious.

If you don't want exhaust why don't you just get an electric car lol. But why? you don't like the sound?

Cutting the exhaust off at the cats would make the car loud as hell, it wouldn't make it quiet.

1 problem is that there's somewhat of a vacuum created underneath your car, that's why the exhaust leads out behind the car. It's almost like sitting in your garage with it completely sealed off, you're going to have some problems...lol

I have heard that the V6 sounds like crap with an open exhaust. If you want it loud and still sound good... check out the MRT version 1 exhaust

No exhaust sounds like crap on either V8 or V6. It would sound like some 80's to early 90's jalopy. Not cool at all.

the guys at the dealer didn't give me any details whether or not it'll be bad, they just said it'll be loud. It does sound extremely raw but i'm waiting for my friend to get some straight pipes to install for me. I just need to hang on for a few more days. Will it damage my car severely?

They probably didnt wanna tell you cause they knew you doing that will void your warranty. Then when something happens they gonna charge you out the anus for repairs.

yes, it is bad -- you will die from carbon monoxide coming into the car; that's why safety inspections always require that the exhaust pipe runs out to the edge of the car

(actually that is a slight exaggeration, if the car is tight you are probably OK, but not a good idea to have exaust in the middle / bottom of the car)

actually, cutting off the cat will make it not run right. the computer will freak. you cant cutoff the cats on new cars. but if you mean cutting it off from after the cat, itll just be loud

A car with no exhaust will burn out the valves and be too loud anyway.

I would want the quietest exhaust I could find for a V6 because it doesn't sound good at all, even a V8 with no exhaust doesn't sound that good but better than a 6. I run my truck from time to time with 3" cut outs open and I don't leave it like that for long.
