Newark De, is the same way. I have quite a few friends that can't go down main street or they'll get a loud exhaust ticket

The cop was just doing his job. Not saying it's not bull, but states do have certain laws, and you may want to research your state's laws before attempting to fight it. Good luck!

PQ, I too asked a couple of officers in my area about music noise and received the same reply. They also said it may depend on the day they're having or if the person they pull over is cooperative or not

A footnote. We have one officer on patrol in our area and when he was asked why he didn't enforce noise laws, he just said, "they'd leave my cruiser in the dust". Smart cop.

the cop is smart. im part of the motorcycle crew that rides on pch. so its good to know cops dont try to ticket for noise.

I would definitely find out what your noise ordinance is where you live...this is something I've always heard about happening...but never actually "seen", so to speak.

I had a 1969 Nova SS with cherry bomb exhaust and got a ticket for excessive noise back in 74, went to court and won stating if it is sold in stores with sales tax attached then it is legal.

My dad was talking to me earlier today about how loud my exhaust is on the camaro. I have the catback exhaust! Sooo I ran over to Applebees to go pick up some car side to go for supper and I'm drivin home and guess what's behind me the sheriff:( So he moves over light turns red. We are cruizin by each other now. Well we get to the another set of lights he turns left and I turn right
