I was wondering that too... someone wanna test and report back?

Take it off. Semis don't have rearview mirrors and they do O.K.

I have it 100% as high as possible. Believe me, if I pushed any harder the windshield woulda popped out! ;-)
I'll try rotating it and see about a non auto dim replacement.
Thanks all!
Ps. I would not have been so harsh if it were just a cosmetic thing. I see it as a safety issue and wanted to inform our members.

that means that the mirror is 38.75% the size of the vertical windshield...
it sure seems like the ratio could be better... just sayin....

Now that's funny...

Also, I hate to see what owners say the first time you pull up to a stop light and try to look up at it...

The mirror is too low on the windshield for tall people.
it might be a little on the big side also, but get it up an inch or so and that would help me a lot.

thanks! tell us how it works, where is the sensor? is it also on the bottom? thats where it is on my truck. but as long as you have it where the light will still hit it, upside down should work, right? how are the wires routed into it?

I have to do that already in my Tahoe, so no biggy for me, got used to it.
Usually look at the cross-way signal lights for when they turn amber, then red. Then duck down to confirm mine has turned green and punch it.

There was a solution to this problem way back in the middle of last century...

Behold...the traffic light viewer, available as a GM accessory from your Chevy dealer on 1955-1958 Chevy cars and trucks.

Today's approach is a bit less bulky though:

Well if that isn't disorienting, I don't know what is. Trippy.

I noticed it is a little larger than needed. It might be to house the extra goodies like On Star and auto dim hardware.

On second thought I might take mine back and ask for a refund because of this problem.

Since I'm only 5'1", I can see right under it. The only view it's going to block for me is low flying aircraft.
