BULLSHIT. No one takes a Camaro over a ZR1 if they can afford it. NO ONE.

I don't get why no one mentions base Corvettes between 2005-2007. I mean bluebook value on those is $32-35K which is a robbery for a car of that caliber and more comparable to the Camaro SS price range. Everyone here only wants 08 or newer I guess. The only disadvantage I can see is that older C6 vettes were "driven hard" and put through the mill, but you can find them at low milage anyway.

Read some reviews and specs on the 2008 and 2009 models and the difference will be clear.

So many upgrades, almost a different car.

I'm not going to prove this, check for yourselves, but

2008 Corvette's are being sold for 35k now, with 2000 - 5000 miles.

As far as BASE model, check your facts. Even the base is LOADED.

Side airbags are the big thing missing from the base 1LT trim.

All Corvettes should come with side airbags....

I may by a 2007 3lt with 20k miles in excellent condition for 30k. The dealer is asking $34,500 but in the Northeast with winter upon us it's a bit harder to sell vettes. Only thing it doesnt have which i would like is the Nav system though it has the 6 disc cd. Ive seen 2005 sell for 24k with about 30-40k miles on them. I'd just rather go with a 07 or newer due too the 100k drivetrain warranty. So i think 05-07 is more like $24-35k atm.

Warranty is a good point, and I just did some additional research as well since I haven't been following Corvettes until recently. Base model performance is higher on 2008+ models so I can understand that. Different interior and such.

This is an interesting debate because pre-owned Corvettes will be tempting especially if the Camaro remains popular and harder to obtain throughout 2009.

The reason is the 08 comes with the LS3, the 05-07 only came with the LS2.. and for comparison the camaro will have the LS3.

That being said.. an LS2 is more than enough for me.. and thats why its on the table come october next year... BUT 08's will start hitting 30k around that time.. making my decision harder...

Harder, or easier grasshopper...

Interior upgrades, steering upgrades, tranny upgrades, and on and on.

Yep, one year from now, 2008 Corvette 2LT or 3LT, 2000- 5000 miles - most Corvettes are not daily drivers, hence the low-low miles. $29,995.
