3.91 gears on L99 2010 Camaro ss

I know people on here recommend the 3.73 gears for the auto but what is the advantage over the 3.91 gears? In the future I'm going to get a carbon fiber driveshaft, camshaft, and get ported heads so will the 3.73 still be the better option than the 3.91s after installing all these? I'm planning on staying naturally aspirated as well.

Did it on mine and love the 3.91s -- the auto is geared deeper so 1st and 2nd are a challenge but, I did love them. Really wakes up the car. The 3.91's I had were from GM so they were designed and meant for the car....

I have 3.45s now as I'm SC'd -- but before I changed them, they would just spin the wheels with the SC -- really something...

Yah the gears I'm looking at are the ones from the 1le so they are gm as well. Would you have kept the 3.91s on you if you didn't go supercharged?

Love my 3.91 gears. Vast improvement over the stock gearing. Would never go back, and I have no aspirations of going SC....

So it really is noticeable on all modes drive, sport, and manual?

what is you end goal with the car? with heads, cam, stall (about 3600), 3.91 gears, suspension mod, and a set of radials (and a tune to match of course) you will be running 11's all day...with the right driver it has been known to touch top of 10's. but im sure your not looking for that aggressive right lol? right? if your looking to bring it alive 3.73 will do it but those 3.91 will help trap better numbers with a slightly higher RPM drive...just dont expect to much top speed with 3.91 gears, maybe around 165mph with that build...but you will get there fast

Yep and not looked back. It was a great upgrade. I wanted an auto 1LE, then migrated to ZL1 parts, and now I have a combo!

I guess I'll get the 3.91 gears then. Do you know around much it will cost to install and recalibrate the speedometer? I'm also gonna have my driveshaft and zl1 fuel pump installed at the same time as the gears.

What ever gear ratio you choose, do not let anyone talk you into buying Richmond Gears!!!! They worked good on the street for me but once at the drag strip where traction is great....they completely blew apart! Go with GM or AAM gears, I went with the 3.73 AAM gears and have been to the track around 6 different times, pulled 1.8 60 ft. times and the gears are still working great! The Richmonds blew up on the 4th pass, on the line, the first time I was at the track with them!

Just don't want you to go through the headache I did! It took out the housing too!!! Richmond did not do anything because they said that they only warrantee their gears on the street and once you go to the track you are not under warrantee! I even told them the box the gears came in stated Street/Strip but got nowhere!!!
