Camaro SS Luggage space

Great forum you guys have!

Having a roadtrip in CA this summer and I'm considering the Hertz Camaro SS Coupe the two weeks we are staying. We are two people travelling and will be travelling with 1 hard shell suitcase and 1 soft bag, and some other small items. The soft bags I assume will fit in the back seat. Could anyone estimate the biggest hard shell suitcase that will fit in the trunk?

Thanks!

I would assume the airlines have a size limit on suitcases also. The limiting factor on size is not the trunk space itself but the trunk opening. It's raining right now or I would go out and make some measurements for you.

I struggled 2 weekends ago to get a subwoofer box through the trunk opening. I ended up having to pull the carpet and trunk liner up, slide the box in, and then work the liner and carpet back under the box. Angrybird is right... the trunk is big, you just can't get anything into it!

the opening is about 32X16. the trunk is big, but the opening is small. My wifes big hard case fits, but I wish she would use a good packsack or duffel bag instead.

If the suitcase is long and not very tall, you can slide it in from the back seat too. I would guess you've got about 12" or so of safe height to slide stuff into the trunk from inside the car.

Think of the trunk opening like the mail slot in your front door. You can get a lot of things in your house, you just can't shove them through the mail slot.
Now assuming you can get the hard shell suitcase in the back seat, you could just put the back seat down and slide it through there.

Fantastic! Thanks!

The hard shell is:
77 x 57 x 33 cm
30" x 23" x 13" inches

So I think it would be possible to get it in there. As Mezzmo wrote, in worst case we can put the suitcase in the back seat. 3. option is to convince my girlfriend to pack duffel bag...

Again, thanks for all your help!

Back from two fantastic weeks in California/Nevada, much thanks to the great SS! Picked it up at LAX. Absolutely no problems with luggage! All the 4 bags we had fitted in the trunk The two 28inch Samsonite's went straight in. The Hertz car was stuffed with great extras: Sunroof, Navi, HUD, Boston speakers, Sirius XM, Rear park camera

Total 1900miles driving LA - Hwy1 - Monterey/Pebble B. - Napa - SF - Yosemite - Death Valley - Vegas - LA. Thanks again for convincing me renting this beauty!
