look in the DIY section, bought a set used for $15.00 PLUS $8.00 in paint and sandpaper. They turned out great.

I had showstopper paint mine for $100. His work is perfect and he puts on several coats of clear. I've learned that quality paint work is well worth paying for.

On the other hand, if you feel confident doing it yourself, then have at it. Sand them, use adhesion promoter, paint them, and use at least 2 coats of clear.

I'm in the process of re-painting mine. I didn't sand them down well enough the first time -- I used too-fine sandpaper and did not do a thorough enough job -- and the primer eventually started flaking off.

I've been resanding the hell out of them with 60 grit sandpaper (had to get the bits of primer that *did* stick off again) until they no longer shine. Someone recommended to go with only 200 grit or so, but I found the coarser grit to work better.

There are lots of nooks and crannies on the inside that can become starting points for flaking if they're not sanded -- those are a bitch to rough up.

The goal is to sand until they look like dull brushed-metal. I've spent about an hour per bezel so far just sanding them (one more to go!), though I have the added work of getting the previous paint/primer job off, too.

Someone else on the forms recommended using self-etching primer, too, which I didn't use the first time.

Hopefully it will turn out nicely this time. I love the way they look painted flat black, and I've been putting a lot of elbow grease into scuffing them up for priming...
