Hopefully A Thread That Won't be Merged: AOL Gives New Equinox Top Marks

Quote:
Oh, man. There aren't cars like this quite often. These are the sorts of things that you remember for a long, long time. We're not talking life-changing, but this is definitely in the category of significantly memorable. Sitting in that row at the ballgame where they hand the free hot dogs out. Hauling in the biggest fish on the boat. Winning the 50/50 raffle at the basketball game.

We've just returned from a week with the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox and we're happy to go on record as putting it up there with all that good stuff. You might think we're crazy, but it's not difficult for us to get excited about a vehicle like a crossover (that strange union of an SUV and a car). Since nearly every manufacturer makes one these days, they tend to get a lot of attention. But the reality is that most haven't been that inspiring. In fact, GM has been in the crossover game for years, too, but nothing they produced ever came this close.

The Equinox changes all of that.

I saw that too. I really love when I sign on and AOL has positive things to say about GM on the homepage. It is a solid vehicle that will meet a lot of peoples' needs..and is...they just announced a major investment at the plant that builds them.

I can't for the life of me fathom why anyone would want a CR-V or Rav4 after driving one of these.

I agree Fen, just have to get people to "consider" a GM product and with the current (and upcoming) products they will sell themselves...

We were at the Dallas Galleria Mall on Saturday and there was a big Cadillac event going on to showcase the new SRX and CTS wagon. They were doing a test drive of the SRX and they had competitors' vehicles there to test drive too...Mercedes/BMW/Lexus...If you can force people to give GM products a fair shake and compare it to the compitition they will do well with the current line up...GM has not always been able to say that!

The event was a GM event. Not a dealer event, and it was a very good way to expose people to the new cars in a low pressure way. I didn't do a test drive ( I am fortunate enough to have done that), but did check out the cars and talked with a few of the reps and they were very informed and friendly.

The 2010 Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain rock. They cannot be beat in the CUV segment for features/price.

My G/F is ordering one later this month. She's coming from an Escape which is a complete POS. These are great SUV's and very comfortable and economic. Cheap too for the content and feature you get.

The Equinox is selling really well! We can't keep them in stock more than a few days.

When we do have them we get 20 requests from other dealers to trade them. Amazing how they are selling. Makes me happy!

PS...as of right now I have two...just sayin' :-)

The ride is slick... bottom line. The Terrain tho... in my opinion, is the one. I just LOVE the styling that much more. These two vehicles are the epitome of proper badge engineering.

WOW... and I just bought my mom a 2008 Equinox Sport last year...

That's what trade-ins are for.

Equinox is a great vehicle. It has appeal to a broad range of customers, there isn't much that GM could have done better with it.

I'll disagree. I'd say the Traverse, Acadia and Enclave are a much better example of good badge engineering. But either way, they're lightyears ahead of the days of the Cavalier/Sunbird/Cimeron and the rest of 'em.

Does the new Equinox have the AWD system that uses the front wheels as the primary drive wheels? The rear wheels are only driven when needed?
