Yea but there is a difference between dropping it down THEN hammering it and dropping it down WHILE hammering it, so what one are you talking about

For fun! simply to have fun, enjoy the car and feel the power

...I guess my idea of fun is flooring it on an on-ramp or accelerating from a stoplight, or taking the twisty roads a bit faster than I should...not downshifting just for the heck of it.

Have to admit, My pirelli's are bald after 12,000 miles... Not exactly the tire for life though. I stay off the rev limiter

I change gears then accelerate... Depending on the gear changes sometimes I might rev the engine in the transition to meet the higher RPM required for the lower gear.

Would I do it? No. but I don't think it's doing much damage other than to the clutch. As long as he's ready to replace that early and be aware that other driveline components will take a beating over time also. Well then you know what they say. You gotta pay to play. Some just like to play more than others.

He says he drives it like that ALL the time, seems a little rough to me.

Any of you folks drive it like that? Thoughts?
Sounds like an immature jerk to me. His car won't last long and he will be crying the blues.

Yea why is he a jerk ? Driving it like that is not much different than autocross . Some of you act like this car is made of glass . Its a freaking sports car the worst that will happen is that the clutch will start sliping from the flywheel getting glazed .

Drive it like you want to.

The car was meant to be driven.

and revving to 3K is not that high.

4-6k is high.

I like to stomp on it every now and then.

Have some fun and enjoy your cars.

Well I heal toe the majority of my down shifts, and on a regular drop atleast 1 if not 2 gears to accelerate BUT, I do heal-toe (not perfect but getting better) and I do rev match everytime I drop a gear. I've been practicing for Autox and HPDE's.
