I got my 2011 SS Convertible back this afternoon and the new top looks great! I still need to check road noise and water tightness since the roof is so new. However, no rubs, wrinkles or pinches are visible in this top!

Brandon (Chevrolet Customer Service) - Thanks so much for helping me get things moving smoothly between the regional GM reps and dealership over the past few weeks. Once you got involved the replacement moved more quickly.

NO it is just a new top and couple brackets for bow #2. the waterbag is NOT included, which is complete BS! i have the same concern, that while your in there update it to the newest one so the top doesnt have to come off again when that fails in a few months. it really sucks on GMs part for not including it. they told me it will only be replaced if there are signs of wear, or problems.

How does a shop hired by the dealership know what to look for or even if a waterbag is damaged or not. Is this made specific in the instructions for changing a top by gm?

i dont know, the instructions were posted here, but now i cant find them. im guessing the mods deleted it.

on a side note, does anyone know the PART NUMBER for the updated WATER MANAGEMENT BAG?? sorry for caps, wanted to grab attention LOL. i know a few of you posting have had the new bags put in. GM cust service just called, i explained my concerns about the bag (yet again) and gave her part numbers for the second design top which came with everything to update the car, including the bag. and the new design part number which is just the canvas and brackets. i said this is your last chance, update everything while its apart, or when i have problems in 2 months you WILL BUY THIS THING BACK!! so they are supposedly looking into getting a bag added to my order.

so a part number would be awesome so when she calls back tuesday i can give her that number as well. thanks a million everyone, and keep the pics coming when you get these new tops installed.

Good news everyone! My District Specialist from GM working my case number for the Rub marks says "They are completely normal"! We can all go home now and sleep soundly! What a twit! You can see the pic in my albums. The materiel is fraying on the passenger side!!

So is there an escation process or do I go straight to the BBB? Any advice would be appreciated.

"NORMAL": adjective 1. conforming to the standard or the common type; usual; not abnormal; regular; natural. 2. serving to establish a standard.

Well... I mean... technically... based on the amount of us WITH them...they are... "normal", right?

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=234052 read post 4 on that thread. open the first attachment and print it and bring it back to the dealer. it mentions the tops, rub marks, and replacing if fabric is damaged and marks dont come out with brushing them etc.

I used Regal Chevrolet in Lakeland, Florida for my roof replacement. The roof looks good but I need to test its operation and check for wind noise and water leaks now.

Exactly. Better check the part numbers there "meSSohappy". Chevrolet is being very arrogant regarding replacing the entire mechanism, as it should be. To quote a higher up on the totem pole member of senior management, "...to replace the entire mechanism would be counterproductive." I guess buying back cars is cheaper, wow what logic.
