Yes. But so is the '10 Camaro's design.
I lvoe playing devils advocate too.
Flatten out the bottom of that Aveo wheel, and you're a badge and some suede short of a ZL-1 wheel... Just sayin!

Suede/microfiber...what's that all about. My great-grandfather had those felt-like seat covers in his '37. I know that my hands would be sweating everytime I drove this bad boy. What would that do to the steering/gear shift.

Also, where does water go after it passes through the hood louvres? I know it is not a problem when you are driving, but do I have to detail the engine with every wash.

Down?

Only thing I can say to that is if you want a show car 100% of the time...don't drive it.

Water will eek through the radiator in any car...dirtying the appearance of the engine. This won't change that much at all.

I like the suede seats as well, I would get that over the leather any day. Your derriere will definetly stay planted better with that material. I have the factory cloth deluxe interior in my 73 Z28, it is very comfomy, much like a couch. The youngsters get a chuckle here and make alot of reference to that soft natural material as something out of grandma's living room, but personally I feel the suede is different and it's a fresh approach; it's comfortable, it has a nice feel to it, and it looks appealing. Even better, it's an option...so to each his own!

The thought of the suede seats is growing on me and would make the ZL1 feel and look differant then the other camaro's. But as far as suede on the rest of the interior I will probably go with some after market trim like the carbon fiber for a differant look.
As far as the steering wheel I just have to see it in person and make a judgement on that. Rather then the chevy or camaro logo on the steering wheel, I think it should say ZL1 which is much more appropriate for this car.
The majority of the mods I would be doing would be more cosmetic then for an hp increase, the car already has plenty of power for me. Plus I want to keep the warrantry intact, perhaps some after market parts under the hood. Make the engine compartment less cluttered and more mean looking.
Overall the car is fantastic and with the after market companies around, will all have our own unique cars in our driveways eventually.

ZL1

1) It needs a blacked out tail pan.

2) Nav would be nice.

3) Painted stripe or stripes.

4) Factory car cover.

5) ZL1 floor mats.

6) 69 ZL colors

But over all the car is one of the best factory built Camaros ever made and I can't wait to order mine.

I love the car, very excited about it! Definitely getting one, so can't wait for 2012 to be able to order it. You can't please everyone, and everyone has their little desires. IF GM asked me, this is what I would say:

- Wish the On-Star antenna be located in the spoiler
- On screen NAV installed, what if people don't want to keep On-Star service going?
- Delete the back-up sensors, if there will be a reverse camera.
- Recaros would be a great OPTION
- ZL1 emblem on the steering wheel

Really though, if she was offered today, I would order her! Thanks GM for doing the ZL1, put me down for a Black one!

ZL1

I would also like to see a "strip down" ZL1. I would definitely buy it over the loaded out one. I know technology has come a long way since 1969 But Remember...... the original ZLs started out as strip down six cylinder cars with no options at all and a big @ss 427.

The ZL-1 is going to bring me back to my roots as a GM owner. If they gave it a nice nav system like my SRT has, it would be perfect.

Nav systems go out of date.. Extra electronics and price (that's a rip off) that we don't need ! It a waste of money and space, the next Iphone or Evo phone will replace it.. Don't put in on our sportscar !!

The one that comes with the 2010 is fine for me.

I have a feeling that the only true suede in the car will be on the wheel and shift knob. The "suede microfiber" is probably that fake suede that our couch is made of... Very comfortable, and looks nice- but I don't know how if would fare in a car where the temp fluctuates alot
