I like that much more than the idea of a large 'SS' in the center of the wheel.

Yeah, you're right. It is probably the V6 model, because the redline of the V6 is 7000.

CP did say that the SS emblem will be at the bottom of the steering wheel and not in the center.

Remember that Ignition Video GM released?

Well right in the middle of the steering wheel instead of 'Camaro' it says 'SS'

Now obviously that is about as official as the mag's talking about GM shutting down the maro project, but i wouldnt be suprised to see that wind up in the car

^Which could also have been why they pulled the video. "Ooops! I forgot to take out that SS in the center of the steering wheel! I'm so dead!"

those colors are what i am aiming towards. im not sure what to do with the rims. My friend had a 97 vette. Torch red with white rims. Im thinking if i get the grey with the white stripes colors i might get the rims white. What do you think? would it be original and strong or cheap looking? Whenever i see white rims 20's and up they look sick.

I wish GM offered a modern interior (ie corvette) option

purists can have the retro look they have created, it really is the only thing that's really pushing me towards another car

I see unique and different...not retro. That's what I like about it!

Am I seeing this wrong or is that NOT a leather wrapped steering wheel? It looks more plasticy than that in my Yukon.

function is more important than unique and different on a dash

all the controls & displays should be easy to use/read/operate, that dash screams retro & overly busy to me

Why do you think that they aren't?

I am thoroughly pleased that this car is as far from the parts bin as it could be. It's a polarizing interior, for sure: but the difference of it is what will be so appealing, imo. I also don't see any reason why the controls won't be easy to use (which is why I asked the question).

I can't wait to sit in this car. Maybe I'm getting old, but I appreciate all the small little touches now. If this car has a fit and finish it looks like it does from the photos, man, it will be awesome. I like that they are keeping with the steering wheel controls, and like that I remember seeing they are adding a telescoping column. I'm a little worried about the back seat leg room, but I'm not buying the car for the passengers

the corvette's interior is excellent, everything is placed well, the camaro's is far from it, maybe it'll be ok once I drive one, but I'm not getting my hopes up based on what I've seen. Really it's the ONLY thing on the car I do not like, unfortunately it's a major dislike for me

I'll spend a few hours every day staring at that interior, I'm not sure I can handle it, coming out of European cars

Those images are extremely cleaned up. The real photos I have seen look way more cheesy. But I would have to see it in person before I decide if it's cheesy though Maybe it's just the lighting, or it was cleaned up too much in the demo pics.
