The Smoking Tire's LS3 Camaro SS Review

This otta shake things up for a few days.

I feel that they picked the worst track to test a car like the Camaro SS. Good informative video for sure for anyone looking at buying one. I almost got wrapped up in the Camaro fever but the member's here at C5F gave me the honest opinions I was looking for. That's what it all come's down to is honesty, I try to live my live as honest as possible because lying is like cancer.

its honest, i agree on mostly everything.
when i sat and drove the ss i felt like it was so low, everything felt big.
the styling is awesome, but i'm seeing it so dam much its losing it's newness.
the car rides nice, you feel the weight on the corners.
and there no exhaust noise, you need to open the window to here it.
maybe i'm just to use to the sound of my 68 firebird 350

2SS doesn't mean you get the LS3 and manual transmission ...

Thanks for posting that. That was quite an interesting and straight forward review. I just wish that they would have added some straight line data versus the turbo GTI.

I wonder how the 2010 mustang would compare on the same track? After all honesty requires context or it's not honest at all...

Wow, no longer "edgy" and he sees 50 Camaros a day. I don't see 50 in a month. This guys been a Mustang lover from the start, some bias - but good info.

I think the hood ornament is the reason for the low 12's...

Would love to see what he says about the Challenger, same track, same setup.

Really a Mustang lover from the start, please elaborate... .....

Ive been following Matt Farra for 3 years now since his old Garage419 day's and never once pegged him as a mustang lover, or any sort of fan boy with blinders on, but if you have some good evidence of being a " bias Mustang Lover " then please bring it.

He owns a really nice 450whp LS powered C5 Z06 but sorry no Mustang's.

i wonder what else he thinks they should have made the interior panels from. plastic is light and durable. hardly fair comparing a longer wheelbase car that is heavier to a lighter short wheel base car on a curvy road race track. how much timing do you think stability control was pulling out of the car when he was trying to push it to the limits in the curves? maybe if he had concentrated on driving the car when he was timing himself rather than running his mouth he might have done better. not at all impressed with the show.

Probably soft foam backed plastic, leather, and aluminum like he's said during his other video's when discussing what surfaces and touch points make up a nice interior.

His timed runs were obviously done off screen as I quote " After a few laps around the track we were able to run a 52 flat" which wasn't the lap with the commentary.

Nice try

matt farrah is definitely a ford fan, don't get me wrong though, i've been watching his videos for a long time too, and I know he owns a pretty sweet 'vette. But he loves the mustang, he drove a gt500 2 years in a row for the bullrun rally, and he owns a ford raptor. I wouldn't say that he hates GM or, more particularly, the camaro, but he definitely has a bias towards ford

IMO it doesn't matter........ the chevy was not meant to compete with the car in the video. Somebody hop in a 2010 mustang gt and see if it does much better on that track.... By the way ive never heard of this guy - he has as much credibility to me as the mailman. I Do agree with many of his observation though. Here is a good example of low credibility - were the cars ran by the same person on on the same day in as identical conditions as possible. I doubt it.

Wrong, 2010 was his first year driving the GT500 the rally and it was sponsored by Black Magic.
