I keep some DuPont Prep-Sol 3919S and PPG Acryli-Clean DX330 on hand for problems like these. They are wax and grease remover products. They are available where auto paint supplies are sold. Don't know if any of the parts chains (Pep Boys, Auto Zone etc.) carry anything like this or not. Hope this helps.

I would try liquid dish soap and water with a wet rag...avoid toucing any part you want to keep wax on.

Either use some Dawn or some APC from Adam's works great too.

Adams VRT works for me, but I don't know what type of wax or how long it sat. If you use the Adams APC, make sure you wash off all the residue asap.

I will try APC since I use Adams wax. Will try dawn and a brush too. I know Skip tried to get it off with tire shine and that failed, lol.
