Why are there so many used Camaros for sale?

Every Chevrolet dealer in my area has least 2-3 used Camaros sitting on thier lots? I asked a sales man last time I stopped by and he speculated it was because the Camaros didn't have the performance Chevrolet advertised. I personally don't think this is the case. Any opinions? Has anyone else noticed the number of used Camaros on dealer lots?

i would venture to say that some people bought them and then ended up being financially screwed in one way or another. a new car is usually one of the first things to go when something happens and leaves you broke!

I noticed the the large amount of used ones with around 1000 miles on them (for msrp pretty much still) and i bet it could be because people thought they could afford the payments for it, but ended up seeing that it was too much, that makes sense to me atleast. The car seems to be a great initial starting price, but it could very quickly add up with tax and stuff. They might have ordered it without thinking if they could really own it.

You gotta remember, when most people ordered the new Camaro, the economy was alot better. Then they got their cars and the economy tanked.
It sucks, but it has happened to alot of people. Great news for someone wanting a fairly new Camaro at used prices.

These are hard times. Having to sell your new, 1000 mile Camaro = sad day!

Well I wish that was the case here in Western Canada!!! I can't even find one to test drive in my area. There's one at the dealership near my house, but the owner of the dealership bought it and has it up in the air on a ramp style display.

not many used ones around here (Massachusetts) yet . . . there are a few, but the price is basically MSRP; I guess they still think the new ones are selling above MSRP which is not the case yet

There are some starting to accumulate around here. Mostly v6's with 6 to 12,000 miles. i would assume they are all rental returns?

haven't seen any used ones, but another reason you might see quite a few is the 60-day promo. I'm sure that gets a few people who shouldn't buy the car (or don't really want to purchase it) to go get it and enjoy it for 2 months, then return it.
