But I don't like tablets

That makes sense.... wouldnt you have to change the OS? or is there an app for that? If there is i might do the same thing....

nope, I've found apps that just connect the pc+ipad/iphone to eachother by wifi
no changing of OS required. But the app like Air Display, isn't ready for windows 8, and my laptop is Windows 8
so until its Win8 approved I have to use the ipad as its own pc instead of dragging and dropping with my laptop
