Z06 brake upgrade
I'm thinking of putting the Z06 brakes on the front. Does anyone know what is needed? Just the front only

For a 5th Gen Camaro SS?
You would need: 1. Z06 Calipers (Same as ZL1 calipers only they have ventilated pistons). Best prices have been on Rock Auto: LF: AC Delco 172-2669 RF: AC Delco 172-2670 2. ZL1 Brake lines. Could order stock OEM lines or upgrade to Goodridge Stainless Steel lines. 3. ZL1 brake pads: ACDelco 171-1040 4. ZL1 brake rotors. LF: AC Delco 177-1145 RF: AC Delco 177-1146 5. Brake Pad Pin Kit. ACDelco 18K2108X 6. Brake Fluid (highly recommend Motul 600RBF). Best price for calipers have been on Rock Auto. All other parts can be found for great prices on Amazon by searching the AC Delco part numbers I provided. Also I need to give credit to Dropspeed as he was the one who did this conversion first and posted the info for the rest of us. He linked his original thread above for you.

What, if any, are the benefits of using the Z06 kit over the CTSV/ZL1 kit? I see it mentioned the calipers have ventilated pistons. Is that something I could change to in my CTSV/ZL1 caliper?

Thanks Nick awesome post...I was being lazy

The second change is cosmetic. The C7/Z06 caliper is clear coated with a different clear that is suppose to be more heat resistent to avoid the color change to brown when at track temps (aka Brownbos). Matt

Was there any modifications that needed to be done? I found the Calipers. They are actually the blue ones and a set of Z06 Rotors. I just need to order the lines and pin kit

The more I think about it I don't think the blue calipers you are looking at are correct. The ones on Amazon are from the C6 Vette which won't work. You must use C7/Z06 non Carbon Ceramic calipers. It you look at the thread I posted above you will get all of your answers.
