$305 here from autoanything. When you put the item in your cart it will say $339. I went on live chat and they gave me another 10% off.
A few others have done the same. Or just give them a call.

Nope, don't have a device to do that. Car runs great as is, not worried about it.
MPG is about the same, I'm getting 21 around town.

The Trifecta has a feature that helps reduce the chance the dealer will notice a custom tune has been installed. (Tune Transparency, which makes all other components of the car think the ECM is stock.)
Does the Hypertech have anything similar??

I don't think there is any 100% guarantee that and tune would be completely undetectable. I have heard rumors that with the ecm for the V6 that GM doesn't have the ability to see if it was tampered with if you take it back to the stock configuration before taking it in for any warranty work.
In other words they were not worried about tuning the V6 like they were for the SS. |

Forget generic handheld tuners unless you need the other things its capable of doing besides tuning.
I just read a few posts away about possibly needing premium. Premium actually burns slower, its more stable than lower octane gas. Slower and stable makes less power. BUT if you need to run premium because you have spark knock, then you are fixing a problem where timing might have been pulled where you would really lose power. Know what those generic tuners do? Advance timing a few degrees further, the need for premium gas is asked for in the instructions. If your all ready having problems on the factory tune and require premium, what are you going to use for fuel? Then they tune WOT maps for fuel curves. Overall the tuning they do the stock ECM usually tunes back away. They cannot get to the short trim data andmake the proper changes needed so a tune sticks. And the dealer knowing is not your problem tuning. They really do not care one iota. If you car is having problems and they think the tune needs some changes, they tune it and because those generic deals only tune once and you didn't put the tune back into the generic unit, when the dealer retunes, your $300 tune is lost. Want a real tune, one that WILL work http://www.tunedbyfrost.com/ FInd someone like this. These tunes are actually thought out, they tune into all maps which the handheld cannot do and its cheaper. |
