the other thing I also forgot... and I will recheck this info tomorrow..

that when you are in the M mode and using tapshift.. I "think" I saw in my efi live file that the torque converter was locked nearly all the time... which is weird, but maybe good for a road race course, not for drag racing. Not sure if it is in the S mode if it does the same. There are actually like 4-5 different shift patterns for different positions of the shifter... and temperatures etc.

Maybe the torque converter is just screwed up, and way to tight.

guys, I don't have one. but doesn't a GPS show speed to time ?? bring someone with you with a timer and gps and let them time it per GPS mph not car mph

and start it when the car moves, not when you hit the pedal... could be 1/2 second+ easy difference

Yup. 6.5-7secs. Pretty lame.

This should be easy. Go buy a stop watch. Go to your dealership and get the tech. You can drive and he can time or vice versa. Do a few runs and get an average time. Go to www.chevy.com/camaro and compare. They have to fix it.

Leatherneck had the same problem and GM would not do anything for him because it passed all the tests they had... I do not even think they know how to fix this problem right now. He ended up selling the car back to them.

I don't think that would really help, it would only be splitting tenths IMO. And there's no need to be THAT accurate, especially since the speedo will be slightly slower. Either way it's already obvious something is not right.

Just got off the phone with Scott. He has to take his boy to karate but I'm going to do a vid the same way and compare. When I visited him and we took mine out and ran, mine squealed the tires alot more than his. he didn't drive mine and I didn't drive his.

If you make a 0-60 vid like this, do so at your own risk and be safe. Nobody here at Camaro5 is advocating that you do this. I'll have my son sit in the back and take the video.

My A6 seems fine, I have not taken it to a track but 0-60 comes really fast on it, I've had a buddy time it a few times and we keep on averaging around 5 - 5.3 seconds and all I am doing it stomping the gas in Sport mode.

But, if GM could come out with some re-programming like they did for the G8 that would be awesome. This board is filling up with complaints about the L99 and I think anyone from GM on this board should take notice because eventually it could be some bad publicity for the Camaro once word gets out from this forum...where are the GM reps?????

What was the weather like? Also, I usually build the RPMs a bit while holding in the brake. If you just stab the gas from idle you will have slower times. I usually rev up to 2,000rmps, other say the best technique is to rev to 900rpms, stab the throttle to 1,200rpms and release the brake and go. It looked to me that you just stabbed it at idle.

The technique used at launch will make a difference by turning a 2.4second 0-60' time to a 1.9second 0-60' time. This is major for a great 0-60 run.

I'm willing to say you can gain more at launch and I going to assume it is hot (because it is 90-degrees everywhere it seems this time of year).

What do you mean it would only be splitting tenths (I've never heard this phrase)? This car is like 2 full seconds too slow. BUT saying "my car feels slow" isn't going to get you anywhere. Of course it's obvious to most people. But it's much easier for them to say "oh there's nothing wrong" than to try and fix an obscure problem. You need quantitative results that cannot be argued. The numbers don't lie!
