How different are the 2013 vs 2014 ZL1 superchargers?
I have a 2013 ZL1 and the bearing just went out on the snout pulley and I went down to a Chevy dealer and instead of replacing the snout piece, they were replacing the entire supercharger under the extended warranty. Why not just replace the snout? Is there just a big difference between the 2 superchargers altogether?

Chevy only replaced the entire supercharger under warranty. They never just did the snout

Now that they have replaced the supercharger, go straight to a reputable shop and have a solid coupler installed!

Even the solid design has changed to a "not as solid" piece.

It's my understanding, that the original spring loaded design was replaced with a solid coupler for a while, then they went back to a spring loaded design, but the second spring design was also packed with grease/lube.
Since the entire SC assembly is considered a field replaceable unit that is manufactured by Eaton, I doubt that there would be a GM TSB that would show/list the inner details of the coupler. That info would probably have to come from Eaton, not GM. |

The most important change is that the '14 & '15 had a revision improving their S.C. for the rest the only difference that you would see is the change on rear lights and rear diffuser design that's it.

My blower was replaced right before I purchased my car in Nov 2017. I have the newest version with the updated spring coupler, and it has been problem free so far.
