I drive the same route everyday and I mark every spot a cop has ever camped out at.
I make sure the car following me isn't too far behind and I always slow down and get behind them and switch to the middle lane when I reach a known spot.
I've seen quite a few fall for this and get pulled over instead of me because they want to be the leader or trying to race me.
LOL, that's devious

Almost like they were saying "if a cop is ahead, they are going to nail the camaro first"

Anyone else notice this?
I usually wait for a bait car to fly by me, then keep about 100-150ft back. So yeah, you could be 100% right.

Just got back from a 400 mile trip all interstate and I try to not take point. But I do follow someone if they are taking point and keep up with them.

I will take point if I'm in the middle lane. For some reason I feel safer there.

When I was in the Army(Ft Detrick, MD) I had a roommate in the barracks that was sooooo paranoid. One day he came back and told me that a bunch of people kept following him on the highway, every time he sped up, they would speed up to keep up with him. He was convinced that it had someting to do with him being black... like they were after him or something... He had never heard of people following the fastest car on the road in hopes that he will keep the cops attention away from them. I had a good laugh about that one before explaining it to him.

I see the cop pulling over the car behind you before he pulls you over its easier for them to get the one in the back anyways.

Yep... Sheep.
I hate 'em.

Now if they'd take turns with you on cop-watch... Different story!

We call the lead car "bear bait" here in Texas. Always good to have at least one person in front of you when speeding.

people typically don't use me as a bait car. It's hard to go 130 MPH

kidding. But seriously, I haven't noticed this yet. But then again, I rarely go more than 9 MPH over the speed limit.
