Prototypes tend to have a lot of hand made, 1 off pieces on them. Those can get expensive.

"We were later informed that the truck stayed perfectly sealed, and there was no leakage of fuel or oil, an impressive result given how completely the powertrain was submerged."

What a load of BS. The engine tranny and rear has breathers on them. And oil and gas floats. Impossible.

The vent is a one way vent and is made to vent pressure from the inside. Oil and gas only float in water, if there is no water going inside of a sealed unit, nothing will float out. When something is submerged, the atmospheric pressure on it increases, so it if has a one way valve, it would be impossible for anything to leak out, since no positive pressure is being made within the unit itself.
