Camaro tail pipe rear bumper
I was a little concerned about the way the exhaust exits the car. I found a photo that clearly shows the muffler or pipe centered with the Bumper. I was glad to see that it looks like the muffler has some clearance around that Port hole.
I wondered if the bumper would get too hot. I have to tell you I really hope they don't change the way the back bumper looks, with those two huge Chrome-looking port holes. That is very "in-your-face" and reminds people behind you that "you've got a V8". I still think they might change this, but I hope not. It just looks extremely cool. Even more cool than the exhaust ports on the Corvette. I am going to assume that non-V8 Camaros will get a Bumper that looks exactly like this one, but without the lower section with the two holes. BUT it looks like a V6 car could be customized, to just have this bumper installed later (if they wanted), including real functioning dual exhaust pipes. Interestingly I have to remind myself this bumper is missing the back-up lights. It looked like from the spy pics, there might be rectangle shaped backup lights directly below the tail lights. The bumper below looks "perfect" to me. I would accept backup lights in the center of each rear inside mounted taillight lens, just so nothing clutters up the bumper. I know that old 60's camaros had the backup light where I sense they might be placing it. Last edited by 2001ragtop; 12-21-2007 at 09:45 AM. |

This does not look bad at all. Of course if you get hit in back that should tear up the light, so maybe the light WON'T be there and instead be hidden.

It's not actually missing reverse lamps. They're hidden just above the exaust tips in that black thing. That's why you can't see them. I have my reservations as to whether or not those'll make production though.
But nice thoughts on where they should go. |

I still think they should just be on either side of the license plate.
Anything else will ruin the look. |

Keep them hidden above the muffle. Best looking option.

Either hidden inside the red brake lights (keep it uniformed and do all 4) or do them on either side of the license plate.

Wow, I never knew that. That is really cool. I like having things hidden, yet functional. The only thing you lose is the reflectiveness of other car's headlights while yours is off or parked.

I think having them hidden above the exhaust in fresh and new. It adds to that futuristic look that GM is trying to convey with this car. Either way, I'm in it!

i personally think the back up lights will be next to the liscence plate. one on each side. i think that would be the best place without it reallt getting in the way of the design.

I'd guess that they would be beside the license plate on the North American models and in the bumper on the global models.

Where did you find these pics? I'd be interested in seeing more in that same setting.
