Wife borrowed my car today and...

She's been wanting to take it to work to show it off to all of her co-workers so I gave in and let her take to work today.

She gets home and I'm teasing her about it:

Did you park safely in the parking garage?
Where there any other cars parked near it?
Did you take it over 60MPH?
Did you get on it?

All in a laughing matter then I looked down and there is a chunk missing out of one of my wheels THAT I JUST PUT ON THE CAR 2 weeks ago!

AAAARRRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!! FFFFUUUUUU!

She feels so bad that she lost her appetite and kept apologizing. She is under the assumption that she is no longer allowed to drive the car.

She DID NOT curb it. It is definitely a rock chip high up on the spoke. There are 2 small nicks in a figure 8 touching each other, each a little bigger than a pencil eraser.

Oh well, I'll get some satin black touch up paint and some clear coat. Life goes on.

It's dark out but here is a quick pic

That's a bummer man. I got new wheels back in November, so I hear ya. But like you said, touch up paint and clear coat and life goes on.

Important thing is to reassure her that it was an accident and nothing more.

Um, how about a Freaking picture of the car. Yes I see the sig, although a nice glossy would work mucho better. BTW, Synergy Green for the win!!!!

I like your sig (pic of the interior). Do you have any additional pics of the car. Also where did you get the stiching done. Or did you paint the stiching?

The car is ours and it is 100% custom interior

I do not want to high jack the thread, see link below. It is our company that did it. We are a vendor here just lapsed. Paypal is locked since we spent so much..and can not post my email without getting in trouble, i should be up and running soon.

Keep the black touch up paint on the shelf easily accessible. There be more chips for the road. Happens to all of us if we are going to drive and enjoy these machines. Maybe your lovely wife will make it up to you tonight. ;-)

Not all of us , I have black powdercoated wheels on my Vette for 3 years and 30k miles and no rock chips.

Maybe coats of clear or wax can make the powdercoat stronger? or more coats of powder?

That is too bad, those things happen. It's life. I wouldn't make her feel bad or bring it up anymore. Just fix it and move on. As much as we all love our Camaros. When it comes down to it, it is still just a car. (But the best car I have ever owned!!!!)
