Rapid Motorsports ZL1 Build- 784rwhp/757rwtq - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

The ZL1 was dyno tuned today and put down 784rwhp and 757rwtq. On the first pull, it laid down 751rwhp. Car is running 15lbs of boost and is on the stock bottom end. (We will have to see how long it lasts!)

The ZL1 is down at Rapid Motorsports in Birdsboro, PA. Mike is a well known LS engine builder/tuner and his 99 Trans Am was the first LS1 to go into the 9s. He will be building and tuning the car. I will also be using Mike's custom grind blower camshaft. Mikey's cams always make good power and he is quite popular with the F-body crowd. Jeremy Formato of Fasterproms will be porting/milling the heads, blower, snout, and throttle body. My goal is to get as much power out of the stock components as possible. I will post up dyno results when it is done and looking forward to going to the track when it gets warm out.

What S/C are you using? Mikey put LT headers, a can and a tune in my 02 Camaro SS in 03. Haven't seen him in a while. Tell him Ralph said hello. I've done all the work on my 2010 SS myself, with the help of a buddy. It's a lot cheaper that way.

Hi Ralph, I am using my factory LSA blower, just getting it ported. Mike does all the tuning for County Corvette. He is still doing select builds though.

If it's not too late I would like to know the before and after temperatures from using the Thermal Reduction Spacers. Maybe after 4-5 runs...

The car is apart man. I am having these installed as recommended by Jeremy Formato.

Got the ZL1 cranked over today and it sure sounds healthy. Mikey will be taking it down for dyno tuning this coming Wednesday. I am looking forward to seeing what it puts down.

Yes he is. Car is now getting dyno tuned on Thursday. He is doing all of County Corvette's tuning.
