BMR Front and Rear Sway Bar and links
Getting installed this weekend, gotta do it myself, Mechanic wanted like $300 for the Install
I got the Moog stabilizer links coming too plus some Superlube SUL41150 Only thing is, I got to do it with 4 Jack stands and a low profile floor jack. Anyone can give me some tips how to make it easier? I watched some videos but these guys are all pros lol. |

Front is the hard part. You have to come in from one side (I think I came in from drivers side) and twirl the thing around until you get it in place. Feel free to use a reciprocating saw on the old one to get it out.

You remove and install the front bar through the passenger side, just kinda twist/unscrew it out.

From my build thread, maybe this helps:
"Front Sway Bar – this is a challenge, but not impossible to fish it out the Passenger Side. Now note that it is recommended that you remove the Engine Mount bolts and jack up the engine a few inches, BUT THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH A WHIPPLE since there is only ~1/2” of clearance to the Dash. I found it actually can be fished out IF everything is already removed except the Tie Rod, as is my case with a total disassembly. Remove the (2) 13mm Saddle Nuts on both sides, pry off the saddles and old bushings first. Then articulate the Bar around the Power Steering Lines and once clear it is fished out the Passenger Side." https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=442230 |

I think this is where I broke out the reciprocating saw. Despite being larger, I seem to recall the new one going in a lot easier than the old one coming out. Of course, I did not look for any information on it until I could not get the old one out.

I'm done, Yeah I had to get the 4 1/2" Grinder out too, The bushing and saddle would not come off
Got the new one in, plus the links from MOOG, just raised the Engine up about an Inch, the rest was a piece of cake, just cork screw it in. Tomorrow the rear will go on, right now I'm pooped look at that pic it said LE 17 on the old one, is that what I think it is or just a rating? one question I got is, I heard about using the Rear Drop Down links instead of the Short stabilizer, anyone know what I gotta do or which part that would be? Thanks Guys. |
