HIGH HP RHS BLOCK OWNERS..LOOK INSIDE..

Seeing as I am about to order a new block for my personal build, I jumped on yellow bullet to see how the RHS blocks are holding up to some of the fastest LSX guys around. I am glad I did some research. I know the RHS block hasnt been out to terribly long however it seems there are some issue with the RHS blocks cracking and distorting in high hp applications. Here is a link to yellow bullet thread. Go to post # 81 and read from there. This is an apparent issue. Just a heads up. LSX Tall Deck for me!

About 3 years ago yes, they have a new part number since those blocks and I haven't heard of any with issues since they fixed it.

Though just to point out, I crew for a similarly quick car, and we are making 1800 hp. Not sure most folks here will try to make that much.

Nobody ever needs to wonder how internet rumors become legends....you only have to read a few message boards to find out why. I've learned that Dragon Slayer cranks break in Forced Induction applications and now RHS blocks are junk.

Some people's kids......

But I'm sure Huffer has an idea who Justin Smith is who posted the RHS block problems, he's well known in X275 and ODR circles. Hopefully he can share any new info he has on his blocks.

My buddy runs an LME LSX 427, just got it back after 18 months of racing, no issues.

Sure....but we all can agree stuff breaks!

9" rear ends blow...are they junk?
Turbos grenade and destroy engines...are they junk?

The list goes on but you get the idea. Stuff breaks when you modify it...it really doesn't mean anything.

We are all aware that stuff breaks and things happen in racing.I am simply passing along info that I thought would be some good knowledge. Alot of people on here spend alot of money on there engines and a $4500.00 block that has obviously cracked in more than one instance should be brought to the racers attention.

So your saying that when you race your car on your new setup and you happen to break the snout off of your Dragon Slayer Crank or you happen to crack your RHS block you will just let it go as "stuff just breaks"??
Nobody said RHS Blocks are junk either.

I don't expect to break the crank or the block.....maybe the trans will grenade on the 3rd pass but the other two ....not worried.
