Maybe he owns a body shop and will have his car re-painted every month!

They change the actual texture of the water, making it feel “slippery”. This causes water to sheet off the vehicle more effectively". Water that remains on the vehicle will not leave spots. I normally play it safe and dry it in the shade if posible or fast.
I wash my own car using the Mr Clean Car Washing Kit. It does not leave spots. No need to hand dry it. http://www.amazon.com/Mr-Clean-MCC0A.../dp/B0001YLJBO

I wont be taking mine thru one of those washes and I didnt want to take it to one of those self car wash bays either but I also live in apartment and wont be able to do the whole hand wash deal. Though I'm still considering getting one the Zaino kits and doing it at the car wash place but from what I read I dont think I can spend anywhere from 4-6 hours there. I could go to a friends place to do it too. For now I'm gonna have to do one of those touchless washes and do some touch ups as soon as I pull out.

That's what I did tonight. I filled up a huge 5 gallon bucket with about 3 gallons of water...drove the bucket of water to the car wash. Added my soap, washed the car and them rinsed it using the car was hose. Dried it up and I was set. Very easy, especially if you have a car wash pretty close.

Roughly $3 in water, soap, and wax per wash.

4.5 - 6 hours. But wait, there's more!! I don't just wash the car...

I wash it once with a small amount of soap and warm water. Then I wash it again reverse how I washed it the first time, with a normal amount of soap and cold water.

Then I dry the exterior with two towels. One to soak up the water, the second to catch all the stray water that didn't get soaked up.

Before I continue, I take the hose, get down on my belly, and spray down the underbelly of the car from nose to tail.

Then I open all doors, trunk and roll down, then up all windows. I dry out the door jambs, the "gutter" around the trunk opening (outside of the seal), and wipe down all the windows.

I take an alcohol wipe, intended for medical use, and clean off the windshield wiper blades.

I windex the inside and outside of ALL glass on the car, the exterior light covers, and the bowties.

I lube all locks (including ignition), hinges, and sliders with silicone spray.

I wax the car thoroughly: wipe on, let cure, wipe off. Then I come back about a half-hour later, and wipe it down again lightly with a clean towel to get any loose wax off of it.

Finally, I open up the hood, wipe down all the water seals, and take off the engine cover. I clean it inside and out, and wipe down anything I can see in the engine bay. This includes the now-exposed valve covers (and what I can reach of the engine block), all plastic aesthetic pieces, and strut towers, cables, hoses, etc, etc.

I do this every two weeks, but sometimes leave out the lubrication and engine bay steps.

Can't wait till I get the NICE car!!

No car washes for me!

Okay so I guess that the best recommendations for car washing are:

1. Hand Wash – Take your time and fall in love with all those curves

2. Power Wand Wash – You have some time to spend but don’t use the foaming brush except to apply foam. Use the wash kit you keep in your trunk. WHAT? You know you have one.

3. Touchless Car Wash – A quickie to get off the road grime and keep her looking good.

4. Car Wash – Emergency situations like: I’m going on a date with Megan Fox in 10 minutes and my car looks like crap. Take the car to the car wash and go on the date. Then if things go right, when Megan (or your dream girl) falls asleep, go out to your car with some swirl remover and start with option 1.

LOL!!! Dude, make sure Megan doesn't plan her date with you on the same night she has one with me!

I don't understand how a water softener doesn't leave spots. It is salt water basically, it kills the grass.

Sav, What kind of Communist HOA do you have that won't let you wash your own car? I see you live in California, but jeez....
